Hi Readers! It’s been a while and we apologize for not keeping you up-to-date but, we’ve been busy with our personal lives the past month and haven’t had much time to blog. We’ve received a few messages from followers asking when we’ll be back up and blogging again so, we’re glad to know we have people interested in our blog. Explore a variety of activities including canoeing, snorkeling, advanced swimming, diving and water safety skills. You’ll also get to learn outdoor sports, such as volleyball, diving and much more!

Camp will offer games, sports, arts, and crafts. Campers should take a sack lunch and drink each day.

Walk-in registration will be taken on a first come, first served basis, pending space availability. Register in person at Las Palmas Community Center (1921 N. 25th St.), Lark Community Center (2601 Lark Ave.) and Palm View Community Center (3401 Jordan Rd.) during normal business hours. Walk-in registration is not accepted at the Parks and Recreation Administration Office located on Ware Road. Advance Registration Required. We accept cash, check, Visa or Mastercard. Register online at https://webtrac.mcallen.net. Visa and Mastercard. are accepted forms of payment online. A $20 service charge will be assessed for all returned checks, and students will be removed from classes until finances are settled.

ZOO SAFARI CAMP AT BROWNSVILLE PORTER ZOO
When: March 11-16, 9:00AM-5:00PM
Where: Brownsville Porter Zoo
Fee: $155 for members/$175 for non-members
Go on a safari at the zoo. Explore Australia, Africa, Asia and South America. Get to know what species of animals are found in each region. At the end of the fifth day class session, join us, on the sixth day, for a sleepover… a fun way to learn more about the zoo. The Starlight Safari sleepover is at 6:30 pm on March 16th.
