Kristina’s Favorite Things

Spring is just around the corner (Wednesday, March 20) and I couldn’t be more excited!  I love spring and all its beauty.  There are also a few things I’m loving now and want to share.  Here are my favorite things…

FOR YOUR FACE

YONKA CREME 28- Age Defense, Hydrating & Softening for Dehydrated Skin

I always get dry skin during winter and this facial cream saves me.  Yonka is a product I first became aware of about 8 years ago in Austin, Texas {from my aesthetician at The Beauty Store}.  I’ve used Yonka products ever since and LOVE them!  Yonka has an entire product line for all types of skin but there are only two or three that I have used.  This one is my favorite right now; It works wonders for my skin, leaves my skin feeling moisturized without all the oiliness, and makes my skin look healthy.  I apply it every morning before make-up,or even if I’m going bare {no-make-up}. I have not found any retail locations in the RGV that sell the product line so I usually wait until I make a trip to Austin to buy more or order it online at http://www.skinstore.com/yonka.aspx  You can check out the products at http://www.yonkausa.com.

PHILOSOPHY HOPE IN A TINTED MOISTURIZER– Advanced moisture and sheer color with spf 20

Since I don’t wear a lot of make-up {or any sometimes}, I don’t have a daily make-up regimen that takes more than 10 minutes.  However, there are some days I want to look like I have some make-up on but still want a quick, non “caked” look.  On those particular days, I am LOVING Hope in a tinted moisturizer because it’s a moisturizer with sheer color {but it still looks like I’ve got some make-up on}, it has SPF in it, and it leaves my skin looking flawless.  It is exactly what is says on the back of the product, “all you’ve ever hoped for in a tinted moisturizer: hope moisture and sheer glowing color with spf 20 uva/uvb protection.  hydrates, revives and protects skin as it instantly transforms your complexion.”  You can find Philosophy products here in the RGV at Sephora and Ulta.  You can also check out the entire Philosophy product line at http://www.philosophy.com.

FOR YOUR BODY

MAMA MIO TUMMY RUB- Stretch Mark Butter

While I was pregnant with Klarissa I always had dry, itchy skin and found this awesome cream to relieve the itchiness and fight against stretch marks.  I LOVE it!!  I’ve recommended it to several friends and now to you.  The tummy rub is a stretch mark butter made with shea butter, wheatgerm oil, sweet almond oil, and borage oil.  It’s thick and moisturizes without leaving skin oily all day.  It has a gravida fragrance and 10 pregnancy-specific essential oils.  It is recommended for use twice a day {for entire pregnancy + at least 4 months after baby} and helps keep skin looking beautiful and hydrated.  The only thing I am not liking now is that the company changed the “packaging”…It used to come in a jar and you could just scoop out however much you needed; now it comes in tube that is a little hard to work with once you get more than half-way through it.  However, the product hasn’t changed and that’s what I love most.  You can find Mama Mio Tummy Rub here in the RGV at Motherhood {La Plaza Mall}.  You can also check out other Mama Mio products on the Mama Mio website.

FOR YOUR HAIR

ULTRA CHI PRO- Low EMF Professional Hair Dryer

I have a fantastic hairdresser who takes great care of my hair so, I like to do the same at home and make sure I use quality products.  My last hair dryer was the T3 and it worked wonders but it went out on my a couple of weeks ago.  Since my birthday is this week, and I always treat myself to a gift, I decided to go out and by myself a new dryer.  I had contemplated between a T3 and a CHI {I used a CHI before the T3} and then the ULTA flyer helped me make up my mind.  They were advertising the CHI dryer on sale from $149.95 to $99.95 so Mike took me to buy it yesterday and I used my extra $3.50 off coupon…Happy Birthday to ME!  I LOVE what the CHI does for my hair and all of its key features:

  • Removable Air Vent
  • Quiet Speed Motor
  • Non-Slip Bumper
