Mom Monday: Ruth

We love our Rio Grande Valley Moms Blog contributors, and we want you to get to know them as well! We range from first-time moms to moms of multiples. We stay at home, work at home and work away from the home. Some of us are born and raised in the RGV, and others only just realized how much they love it here!

So sit back, relax, and get to know Ruth, a contributor since 2017. You can also follow along today as she takes over our RGVMB Instagram (@rgvmomsblog)!

Mom Monday: Meet Ruth

Q: Tell us about your family:

A: I’m married to the most awesome and patient man on earth.. no, seriously! He’s the best. I have a witty 4-year-old boy that started PreK this year and a 1-yr-old baby girl that gives me a run for my money!

Q: If you know me at all, you know I like:

A: nay, LOVE Whataburger!

Q: What kid’s movie or TV show will you keep watching, even when your kids leave the room?

A: Sing, Moana, and Coco.

Q: What’s one pre-baby idea that you had about motherhood that you have since thrown out the window?

A: I don’t recall ever having any pre-baby ideas about motherhood. I was simply freaked out about the whole thing. Still am ๐Ÿ™‚

Q: What’s your least favorite household chore?

A: Sweeping. As terrible as this sounds, I’d rather mop over/around the dirt than have to sweep it.

Q: Where do you see yourself in 5 years?

A: Owning a big ranch and having the biggest 4th of July parties! Yes, that is my favorite holiday.

Q: What one piece of encouragement would you give to first-time moms?

A: It get’s easier! Don’t give up and don’t be so hard on yourself. Also, you CAN still accomplish your dreams and goals while being a good mom at the same time.

Q: What is one sentence/value/thought that you repeatedly use and hope has lasting power on your kids?

A: It’s better to give than to receive. That’s one thing my mom always taught us with her words and actions. I hope I can pass that down to my children.

Check out these great posts from Ruth!
