Festive Fall Treats :: Quick and Delicious

festive treatsAre your kids starting to notify you that they will be having holiday parties at their school soon? Do you want to be the cool mom that sent some yummy treats with them for their friends and class? Here are three snack recipes that I want to share with you, that are fall-ish: Pumpkin Spice Rice Crispy Treats, Candy Corn Pretzel Hugs, and a Fall Snack Mix.

 

Pumpkin Spice Rice Crispy Treats

What you’ll need:
4 cups of marshmellows
1/8 cup of pumpkin (can pumpkin will work)
3 tbs butter
1/2 tsp pumpkin pie spice
1/2 tsp cinnamon6 cups rice crispy cereal

IMG_0863Melt your butter in a large pot over medium heat. Then add your marshmellows and stir until totally melted. Last, ad in your pumpkin,  cinnamon, and pumpkin pie spice and stir some more.  It should look gooey and brown like this. It’s going to be all over the pot. IMG_0872Remove from the heat and let the mixture cool down for about 10 minutes. Add in the rice crispy cereal and mix well.

IMG_0876Grease a 9×13 baking pan with a little melted butter and pour in the rice crispy mixture.

Place a piece of wax paper over the mixture and press down with your hands.

Candy Corn Pretzel Hugs

What you’ll need:
Small squared or round pretzels
Hersheys Hugs
Candy Corn

IMG_0870Preheat oven to 250 degrees. Line a baking dish with wax or parchment paper, align your pretzels, unwrap hugs chocolates and place on top of each pretzel.

IMG_0873Put them in the oven for about 4-5 minutes so that they will melt. Once out,  gently press a candy corn down on each hug’s center. Aren’t they the cutest little mini desserts?

IMG_0882Let them cool completely and then put them in the fridge for 10 minutes so they can set.

 

Fall Snack Mix

What you’ll need:

6 cups Chex or Crispix cereal
6 tablespoons butter, melted
1 cup pretzels
1/4 cup brown sugar
1 tsp cinnamon
1 cup Reese’s pieces or M+M’s
1 cup mini marshmallows
1 cup candy corn

Pre-heat the oven to 275 degrees. Line a baking sheet with parchment or wax paper. Melt the butter in a large bowl and mix the cereal and pretzels in it until evenly coated. Stir the brown sugar and cinnamon together and add into the cereal/pretzel mixture. Toss it around to make sure it all gets coated.

IMG_0896Pour this mixture into a baking pan and bake for 20 minutes.

Once it’s out, let it cool completely before adding in the candy corn, marshmellows, and reeces pieces.
