The Perfect Date Night at Main Event Entertainment {Sponsored}

{RGVMB has partnered with Main Event Entertainment for this sponsored post. We simply love this local business and are thrilled to highlight and share what they’re up to!}

Who doesn’t love a date night with their spouse?

Let me rephrase that…

Who doesn’t NEED a date night with their spouse?

There is this new, fun, little (well not so little) place that just opened up in the Rio Grande Valley that for me just screams “DATE NIGHT!”!

I’m sure your Facebook feeds were blasting photos from people who have visited and loved it. I know my feed was.

The Main Event Entertainment Center is located in Pharr off where the old El Centro Mall used to be. When realtors talk about location, I think this is what they mean. It is so easily accessible because it is just a stones throw from Highway 83, Business 83,  Jackson Road, and 281. It is also in the hub of what I can only describe as the upcoming “entertainment district” in the RGV. Right next door to Pappadeaux and Cinemark Pharr Town Center.

My husband and I love date nights but it wasn’t until AFTER visiting Main Events that I realized how much FUN a date night could be! We usually do date nights with friends and those are always a blast. When we do date nights alone, we usually do dinner or a movie. And if we are really feeling young and crazy, we will do both! When I walked into Main Events Entertainment, all I could think was “FORGET THE KIDS! I wish my husband was here! This place looks like so much fun!”

Let me be clear, it IS a GREAT place for children too! And my kids would love it, but I think their mom and dad need a date night just a wee bit more than they need another fun day out right about now. Besides, I am gearing them up to head back to school so we need to keep the “cray cray” fun on the “dl” until they settle into their new routine. At least telling myself that makes me feel better about leaving them out of date night 😉

Here is what I loved about it ::

Laser Tag
How hot is that!? Your husband chasing you around with a laser beam! Is that not cute or what? You just might be fulfilling a secret fantasy of his;)
You’re welcome guys!

Food
The food is really really good. They have a restaurant in there and they also have a pizza place. In the middle of the two food places is a bar.
Drinks anyone? Ummm, yes please! I think I’ll have a double.

Bowling
My husband loves bowling but I really don’t like to go. Wanna know why? Because they stink and they look really dirty. But not Main Event Entertainment. I totally wouldn’t mind sticking my fingers inside those bowling balls and my peetzies inside those shoes! The place was really clean. And did I mention, NEW!

Air Hockey
A little competition never hurt anyone right? Kick your spouse booty (ok he might just have to let you win) playing on the air hockey tables. So much fun!

Arcades
Wanna feel young again? Hit up the arcade games. I heard a few people really pleased and surprised at the arcade selection. A few “oldies” too you might remember.

We get so caught up in parenthood sometimes we forget we need to honor the commitment we made to our spouse and get away! Though I love our dinner and movie date nights, sometimes we crave some fun and some action. Main Event Entertainment sure fits the bill! I thought it was a great way to reconnect with my husband.

Main Event Entertainment is located at:
500 N. Jackson Road Suite C
Pharr, Texas 78577

Main Event Entertainment centers are located across the country in Texas, Arizona, Illinois, Oklahoma, and Georgia, so I feel extremely lucky that one popped up in the neighborhood of the Rio Grande Valley.

Where do you get away for a date night with your significant other?

Vannessa Eggleston
Born and raised in the Rio Grande Valley, Vannessa feels fortunate to call this place home. She married her high school sweetheart, Will, who also happens to be a Valley native. She's mom to three of the most charming monsters you'll ever meet (is that an oxymoron?). She has a quirky personality and an unhealthy obsession with all things Egg-related (she married for love and the last name happened to be one of the perks ;). She enjoys sweet tea, a good pun, designing, and quiet time. When she isn't wearing her Mommy and Wife hat, she's most likely sitting at her computer chronicling about the chaos that is her life as a work at home, stay at home momprenuer at In The Company of Mom.
