Have you ever thought of a song that you can’t seem to let go, and you continue to hum it over and over? Or, have you heard that one song on the radio that touches you so deep in your heart that it makes you reflect on your life up to this point?
Recently, I listened to the song “The Dance” by Garth Brooks.
It made me think: Is our life a dance?
Is the dance like a chapter in our life book? I think about it, and I can compare my life to being a dance— “A Dance of Life.” Each day brings a new step to add to my dance. From the beginning my life has been the dance.

People say that our actions speak louder than our words, and, at times, it’s true. Our actions are the dance steps in our life dance. I think about when I was little, childhood. Those were baby steps, childhood steps, in my dance. I think about junior high. I think about high school and my teenage life; they weren’t easy, but those were my steps in my dance.
I think about young, adulthood: working my first job, applying for college and stepping into that first college class. Studying and staying up late at night for exams; those were my steps in my dance, in my life. Graduation, my relationship with my husband; those were my steps in my dance. I lead my steps. I think about those steps I took in my dance and I’m happy that I took those steps.

Those steps in my dance have led me to be the person that I am today. I am happy with the woman I have become as a mother of two beautiful daughters and a loving wife to my husband.
I lead my dance and whomever follows in my dance steps becomes part of the dance of my life. I reflect on this because it’s true. Think about it. Think about your memories. Think about the person you have become today. Think about the people who have followed you while you were leading your dance. Isn’t it amazing?
Reflect on those steps and continue to lead in your dance.
