Five Beauty Favorites Under $10

0

In a dream world, I would buy all my hair care and beauty items at Sephora. In the real world, I have to mix low end items with a few high end items in order to save money and be frugal. Over time, I’ve learned that high end does not always mean better.  The following items are my five personal favorite items that I am currently using and can be purchased for under $10.

This was a fun little find that I discovered a few months ago. It gives you all the benefits of Vaseline with a hint of red at a great cost! This tub cost $1.87 and will last FOREVER! I keep one in the car and another in my purse. Then I use it on days when I want some moisture on my lips but am not wearing makeup. It stays on a long time and keeps your lips from becoming dry and cracked.

Revlon Lip Butter

OBSESSED! I’ve been wearing Revlon lip butter for about two years and I still cannot find a lipstick I like better than this. It glides on like butter but has the look of lipstick. I prefer this to an actual lipstick which can feel a little chalky. I stock up on Revlon Lip Butter when they are running a buy one get one 50% off sale. For a single tube, I paid $6.49! I once read that lipstick is NOT something that you should splurge on and that cheaper lipsticks work just as well. This lipstick is proof of that theory. My favorite shade is 085 also known as Sugar Plum.

Garnier BB Cream

I have to give a shout out to my friend Monica who clued me in to this little gem. This is the fourth BB cream that I tried since they became popular a few years ago. The first three were much more expensive and were not nearly as nice as Garnier’s BB Cream. What is BB cream? Besides being a woman’s dream, the technical definition is blemish balm. A BB cream is much lighter than a foundation but also perfects the skin by giving the skin a more even tone. I do not like foundation so BB Cream has been the perfect solution for me. It can be worn under foundation though. This particular BB cream smells wonderful, works all day, and evens out my skin tone so well! It can usually be found for $9.99.

L’Oreal Double Extend Mascara

A quick disclaimer: this is a love or hate product. Women either swear by it or despise it! This has been my go to mascara for about two years. The first coat is white and helps to bulk up the lashes. The second coat is black and can extend the lashes by 80%! The only downfall is that it can be a little tough to take off at night. Mascara is another beauty product that beauty experts will recommend saving your money and buying less expensive products. This mascara is $8.99!

Suave Professionals Keratin Infusion Dry Shampoo Spray

I saved my favorite, cheap beauty item for last. As most moms know, dry shampoo is one of the best inventions EVER! After trying several expensive dry shampoos and not loving the results, a friend told me about Suave Dry Shampoo. For those currently using an expensive dry shampoo, I beg you to give this one a try! I purchased my most recent can for $2.99 and I could not live without it! On days when I don’t wash my hair, it does a fantastic job of refreshing my hair. I also use it on days when I wash my hair because it helps add volume and bulk to my thin hair. It is a must have product!drugstore products 014

The number one way that I learn about great and affordable beauty items is through recommendations from friends!

Tonya
Hi friends! My name is Tonya- a Midwestern girl who became a Rio Grande Valley transplant three years ago. I spent seven years as a second grade teacher. After completing my Master's in Reading and Literacy, I became a reading specialist for three years. After moving to south Texas, I became a stay-at-home mom for the first time. I've been married for ten years and we have three kids ages 9, 6, and 2. I love online shopping, Netflix, and running but nothing makes me happier than spending time with my family. Moving to the valley was a huge change but constant sunshine and great Mexican food has made it well worth it!
