Feeling crafty?
I’m not. I never feel very crafty. I’m the girl who’d rather buy something than make it because I do not have a crafty bone in my body. I think that I lack that crafty gene. The rise of Pinterest has forced me to realize that I am not capable of being the woman I want to be. If it was up to me, I’d be able to make anything! Sadly, I am usually not brave enough to attempt the craft. Getting up the courage to try the craft is usually half the battle!
So when I began planning a surprise birthday party for my bestie, I knew that I was going to have to get over my crafty fear and figure out a way to make a simple, yet cute, centerpiece. Thanks to a wonderful friend teaching me how to make tissue paper flowers, I was able to accomplish that! I truly believe if I am capable of doing it, anyone can accomplish this craft. Hopefully I will inspire someone to try this quick and easy craft also!
Tissue Paper Flowers
- Tissue paper
- Scissors
- Floral Wire
- Vase
Step 1: Get three to four pieces of tissue paper. You can mix colors or use all of the same color.
Step 2: Fold the tissue paper in half and cut down the middle.
Step 3: Place the three pieces evenly on top of one another and fold back and forth accordion style.
Step 4: Take the floral wire and wrap it around the tissue paper three to four times.
Step 5: Cut the ends of each sides in either a circular or triangular shape. Save the scraps to use in the vase.
Step 6: Pull the tissue paper carefully apart.
Step 7: Place scraps in the bottom of the vase and add the tissue paper flowers.
The possibilities are endless as to the color combinations that can be made into tissue paper flowers!
