My hubby and I don’t get many date nights but I do have a few places I like going the most. Of the few, one is HOUSE WINE in McAllen.
House Wine opened in October 2008 and has since been offering lunch and dinner, with over 130 wines by the bottle or glass to choose from. The ambiance is perfect with soft lighting, high tables, dinner tables, and even couches to lounge with friends. The selection of wine is all around you {literally displayed on wine racks on the walls} and a server is always available to help you make a choice. The food is delicious {ingredients are hand selected by owners Larry and Jessica Delgado} and the menu includes everything from starters {the garlic lime shrimp is my favorite}, to soup and salads, pastas, main dishes {even lamb chops}, and fantastic flatbread. I’ve never tasted their desserts, but who needs dessert when you can have a glass of dessert wine.
House Wine is a great place to go on a date alone or even with other friends. I always run into someone I know when I am there and it seems to be a favorite for our locals. You don’t have to dress to the nines to enjoy an evening at House Wine and that, to me, makes it more reason to go. The service is great {no matter how crowded it is} and as I mentioned before, the wine and food are fantastic. If it’s been a while since you’ve been out on “Date Night” with your hubby, I recommend your next date be at House Wine.
House Wine also offers private parties and catering services. It’s even great for a night out with friends.
House wine is located at 1117 West US Business 83 and is open for business Monday – Saturday. Check out the House Wine website for more details, photos, and the story behind how House Wine got started.
Enjoy your date night!
