At Foot Center, we specialize in podiatric conditions involving the foot and ankle. Established in 1978, our practice has been treating foot and ankle problems in the Upper Rio Grande Valley longer than anyone else in the area. Podiatrists at Foot Center are highly skilled and deliver excellent care for a variety of conditions, including diabetes-related foot problems, heel pain, bunions, and ingrown toenails.
Providing both non-surgical and minimally invasive surgical procedures, we offer a broad range of specialized options for the treatment of any foot or ankle condition resulting from trauma, disease, or infection.
Bentsen-Rio Grande Valley State Park and World Birding Center is a great place to begin a south Texas nature adventure. Guided tours offer our visitors a chance to see wildlife in their natural habitats. Special programs for teachers, students and young naturalists are available as well as citizen science projects such as Hawk Watch and the Christmas Bird Count. Founded in 1967 as the Hidalgo County Historical Museum in the 1910 Hidalgo County Jail, the museum has grown over the decades through a series of expansions to occupy a full city block. In 2003 following the completion of a 22,500 square foot expansion, the museum was renamed the Museum of South Texas History to better reflect its regional scope. Today, the museum preserves and presents the borderland heritage of South Texas and Northeastern Mexico through its permanent collection and the Margaret H. McAllen Memorial Archives and exhibits spanning prehistory through the 20th century.
Pedro “Pete” Benavides Park is dedicated in memory of longtime County Commissioner Pedro “Pete” Benavides who was instrumental in the development of this park. The park is located at the corner of Browne Rd. and California, in the Southmost area of Brownsville, Texas. The Park is constructed on 64 acres of land adjacent to Resaca de la Guerra. Amenities at the park include; a lighted adult softball field, lighted little league baseball field, two lighted full-sized soccer fields, lighted basketball court, lighted volleyball court, playground and splash pad area, four small picnic pavilions, one large picnic pavilion, BBQ areas, a one mile Resaca frontage nature trail with two nature observation stations, and a 1.5 mile walking trail with 5 integrated workout stations.
