Peer Tutoring RGV is a group of students working to provide free, virtual, high quality tutoring on a variety of subjects through video conferencing for students across the Rio Grande Valley. They aim to share what they have learned with fellow students across all grade levels including those in elementary and middle school. Our tutorial services are completely free and are done in exchange for community service hours.
PTRGV offers two main methods of tutoring: Homework Help and One on One Tutoring. One on One tutoring offers more detailed and structured tutoring sessions. Tutors meet with you for an hour long session once a week, providing targeted help to address weak areas and prepare for incoming lessons. Homework help offers relaxed 30-60 minute sessions with 2-3 students of the same level and a tutor who will help you understand any confusing concepts or questions. The Trinity School opened its doors for its first Kindergarten class in the Fall of 2017. Over the past year we have developed into a phenomenal program that is offering a unique approach to Christian education that is both traditional and innovative. For the 2018-2019 school year we plan to offer both Kindergarten and First Grade.

La Paloma Park is located south of San Benito, Texas, in the rural community of La Paloma. The Park offers a number of recreational opportunities for the public to enjoy. Amenities include a walking trail, picnic pavilion, lighted soccer field, lighted baseball field, playground, basketball court, restrooms, concession stand and a splash pad. The Cameron County Health Department also has a satellite WIC office on location.
This park has a 2-mile walking trail, 29 acres, 2 baseball fields, 2 soccer fields, nature trails with scenic overlooks of the Arroyo Colorado, a playground, a volleyball area, a covered picnic shelter, restrooms, access to Arroyo Hike & Bike trail, and an exercise circuit.
Along the banks of the lower Rio Grande is the Santa Ana National Wildlife Refuge, a 2,088-acre refuge established in 1943 for the protection of migratory birds. Considered the ‘jewel’ of the refuge system, Santa Ana NWR provides a glimpse into a world that has vanished from 95 percent of the Lower Rio Grande Valley. The 400+ species of birds found on Santa Ana make it a birder’s delight. Santa Ana offers exclusive looks into the natural world of wildlife, 12 miles of foot trails, a 7-mile tour road, and volunteer opportunities!
